An Airtractor crop duster piloted by a North Carolina man crashed during an attempted takeoff Monday on the farm of Steve Harris near Carthage,Ill. Harris witnessed the crash. "He couldn't get off the ground. I'm not sure why," Harris said. "He dumped his load before hitting the dirt and flipping in the cornfield. I was shocked that he walked away. I thought we would be pulling out a body." The pilot, whose name was unavailable, was airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy,Ill., with back injuries.
